Let's Talk 'Monday's'

Updated: Feb 3, 2019

Do you feel positive or negative about the start of the week?

Monday's seem to be one of those days that most people either feel super motivated about (very few) or the complete opposite and want to look to the weekend, complaining about how much the beginning of the week sucks.

I guess the 2nd mindset is set up for failure right?

The crazy thing is, so many people don't even realise how much they complain about things that are pretty much irrelevant to the grand scheme of their lives. They don't understand the power of their words, how they fill their minds with negative thoughts and wonder why they only see the bad in every situation?

No, I'm not telling you to bottle up your emotions when something upsets you or negatively affects you, understand what the root cause is/was, mend it if you can and then move beyond it. Don't let one negative thought or situation take you away from the goodness of today.

I always think of this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”

Many things that upset us are temporary that only cause a long-lasting negative impact on our minds if we let them thoughts linger.

Waking up on a Monday morning thinking 'damn, it's just the beginning of a crappy week ahead because of this and that' already starts you off on the wrong foot for the day. I'm sure you have seen it and read it in countless places telling you to wake up with a positive thought in your mind, something to be grateful for or just general positive affirmations; it's often overlooked.

I even ignored it myself, but I don't think you realise the power of those thoughts and words and how much my day has changed positively from moment I wake up to the rest of my being solely based upon my focus on a positive thought first thing in the morning.

This applies for everyday of the week, every situation and every hard time you are going through. You will grow beyond your struggles if you allow the positive energy to grow and manifest within you.

I hope this helps you one way or another and share it with anyone you think will benefit from this.

If you already practice something along these lines then why not share how you maintain a positive mindset?

Thank you for reading.

Blessings, Kam.

I love Mondays for 3 reasons:

1. Mondays offer a fresh start

2. They offer a chance to set the tone for the rest of the week

3. Just like any other day, Mondays are a great day to be alive

Thanks for the post Kam,
